Auckland Mixed Barbershop Chorus

Alex is a phenomenal coach that will bring energy and fun to the coaching experience! We got Alex in early in the year to work on some repertoire songs to develop general singing and performance skills in our ensemble before focusing on competition songs. I highly recommend him for any stage of your ensemble's journey. He has infectious energy and structures his explanations and exercises in a way that makes them engaging and easy to understand. You never feel tired out from learning at the end of an Alex Morris coaching session! He has a strong focus on the theory behind each exercise, so you come away knowing exactly how to utilize them in many different song contexts. It's truly the coaching session that keeps on giving.

Alex is a fantastic coach. He uses tools and techniques that the singers understand. He's good at keeping people interested for long sessions. The HCC has used Alex multiple times, and every time he gives us something that works for where we're at. I always jump at the change to have Alex with with my chorus and quartet, and you should as well!

Coaching with Alex was really comfortable, he was great at putting us at ease whilst also providing feedback and suggestions. He gave us some awesome physical cues/tools to help us improve phrasing and pre-emptive storytelling without having to overthink (we love not thinking!). We also loved chatting music and repertoire with him, and we're looking forward to singing an Alex Morris arrangement in the future! Thanks Alex!
