Emily Moriarty
(She/her)VerifiedAbout
Iβm a seasoned coach working with quartets and choruses across Australia in contestable barbershop and broader a cappella styles. My coaching is holistic and non-category-specific: I help groups combine musical, vocal and performance elements into clear, compelling storytelling. With detailed knowledge of Sweet Adelines International and Barbershop Harmony Australia judging systems (including Music and Musicality requirements), I support repertoire strategy, arrangement modifications, and interpretive planning, from character and intention through groove and rubato. I also support Open Package development and full show prep, including scripting, blocking and staging. π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈβΎοΈI aim to offer coaching that is LGBTIQ+ inclusive, gender-affirming, and neuroaffirming. Iβm committed to creating a space where you can show up as yourself. Facebook messenger: m.me/emacappella Email: emilysacappella@gmail.com

chorus
Emily is an enthusiastic and vibrant coach. She easily created a relaxed environment that helped us open up and give an authentic performance. We had a lot of fun being coached by her, and can't wait to work together again!
Vocal Vibes
chorus
Emily has coached Vocal Vibes a number of times and has been instrumental in our creative process. Her arranging experience has been fully utilised both in creating custom arrangements and in helping us to modify sections of other arrangements that didn't suit us. Emily is encouraging and works with the director well to build on existing culture and goals while gently challenging self-limiting beliefs. She has also been a key coach for our quartets and has helped being a few 'aha' moments recognising the impact of movement and stillness on performance. Musically, Emily is able to give clear instruction for resonance, vowels and vocal textures that have enhanced our deliver of the story.
Kintsugi
quartet
It was a great pleasure to work with Emily. Emily's deeply personalised approach, allowed us to be vulnerable and talk about our quartets vision. She used this, to thoughtfully build musical choices in each chart, around the individual personalities and goals of the quartet to support sustainable, holistic growth. In doing this, she creates a safe environment where we felt supported and brave enough to experiment, adjust, and genuinely improve our technique and expression of the music. Her feedback is always clear and encouraging, and she provides practical, achievable changes that deliver immediate and meaningful impact. We can't wait for our next session in April!
