Glenda Lloyd
(she/her)VerifiedAbout
I was fortunate to find barbershop in 1990 while at university doing an IT degree. I was looking for a casual singing activity and instead found a whole musical life! Shortly after that, I started Brindabella Chorus, which has grown from a fledgling group of singers hoping to make it to the end of a song to International Champion Midsize Chorus in 2017 and International Champion Small Chorus in 2023. I've sung in numerous quartets and I'm currently the bass of Skylark Quartet who placed 9th internationally in 2025. I've been on Australia's education faculty for Sweet Adelines since 1999 and on the international faculty since 2020. I love coaching choruses, quartets and individuals. I also present classes on a range of topics, and I particularly love barbershop geekiness about arranging and tuning. My coaching style is relaxed and fun with a focus on positive feedback and finding ways to work with singer's natural voices to get the very best out of them. I want to ensure that singers understand not just how but also why so that they can reuse the skills they learn over and over in all of their music. I also coach directors and music teams, developing their skills so that they can continue to develop their singers. I'm a Certified Music Arranger, and I provide education to arrangers and also one-on-one arranging coaching.
