Ash Schofield

With more than two decades immersed in the barbershop art form, Ash brings a rare combination of championship-level experience, creative vision, and people-first leadership to his coaching work. A Hall of Fame member of Barbershop Harmony Australia and three-time BHA Quartet Champion, he has spent over 23 years contributing across performance, musical leadership, and visual storytelling at the highest levels of the craft. Ash was also a key part of the music and visual leadership team behind Vocal Evolution during its celebrated 20-year journey, helping shape performances that combined technical excellence with emotional impact. As founder, Creative Director, and Music Director of Boulevard Harmony, he has led the chorus to two BHA Open Chorus Championships while building a culture rooted in trust, creativity, and shared ownership. As a coach, Ash focuses on unlocking a group’s unique identity rather than imposing a formula. His philosophy centres on helping singers discover their own artistry and creating an environment where performers feel inspired to contribute fully. He believes the most compelling performances grow from collaboration and a clearly shared vision, supported by honest feedback and strong teamwork. Whether working with emerging ensembles or established competitors, Ash measures success not by scores or placements, but by the experience itself: ensuring singers feel proud of what they create together and audiences leave moved, energised, and connected.
